On October 10th, 2016 the head office of UNESCO in Paris has started its work dedicated to the celebration of Almaty city’s 1000th anniversary.
Within the framework of the unique exposition prepared by the Akimat of the city, the rarest exhibits of the history and culture of Almaty were collected. At the same time, a unique project, supported by the city administration and the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation – the International Festival under the auspice of UNESCO “Children are painting the world. Asia” took place.
According to the organizers of this Festival, the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, an unprecedented number of participants took part in this project. More than 7000 young artists from 15 countries of the Asia-Pacific region expressed their vision of the cultural capital of our country in the paintings collected in the final memorable album. Dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of Almaty, this exhibition is the logical conclusion of the two-year phase of the project.
In addition, the project of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Undiscovered Kazakhstan” was also presented to the guests and spectators. The photo exhibition consists of the rarest frames of wondrous beauty and reflects the spirit of the many – sided Kazakh cultural heritage. Introducing guests to the little-known corners of our immense country, the works demonstrate the breathtaking places and reveal their history.
It should be noted that the involvement of creative young people in promoting the national brand of Kazakhstan on the international arena is always important, and the organizers could not help supporting such a significant international event as the celebration of the UNESCO memorial, the 1000th anniversary of the cultural capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty.
