Online International Forum “Best Practices of UNESCO Clubs in the Asia-Pacific region: challenges and opportunities”
At the initiative of Kazakhstan Federation of Clubs for UNESCO Online International Forum “Best Practices of UNESCO Clubs in the Asia-Pacific region: challenges and opportunities” was held on April 28, 2021.
The Forum was organized in the framework of the UNESCO program “Partnership for Sustainable Development” to match the new realities.
150 representatives of Clubs for UNESCO movement from Asia-Pacific countries such as Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia and Vietnam; representatives of Regional Branches of Kazakhstan Federation and Clubs for UNESCO of Kazakhstan took an active part in the Forum.
The Forum’s agenda included the most important topics on ESD, there was a discussion on the following topics:
- Identifying opportunities for cooperation between National Federations and regional UNESCO Clubs for UNESCO;
- Determining the future communication strategy of Clubs and Associations of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, aiming of increasing partnership relations, increasing the authority and awareness of the Clubs Movement as an official partner of UNESCO;
- Sharing own experiences and opinions of best practices in order to involve more people in the UNESCO Clubs Movement.
- Strengthening cooperation between UNESCO Associations and Clubs for UNESCO throughout the Asia-Pacific region;
It is important to note that every participant showed high motivation for interaction, agreed to invite Club members from other National Federations to participate in regional and international project. This dialogue was served as a platform for exchanging views and experiences, gaining new knowledge and summing up great and visible results about the work done on the activities of AFUСA members.
