Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO announces the launch of the music cycle of the International Youth Festival THE PLANET OF ART – 2025.
On March 20, 2025, the music cycle of the International Youth Festival THE PLANET OF ART – 2025 was officially launched as part of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the World Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO.
This project aims to support creative youth, promote the diversity of cultural expression and strengthen friendly ties between countries through art, based on the concept of a “culture of peace”.
THE PLANET OF ART – 2025 is being implemented as part of the promotion of the “Pact for the Future”, adopted by the UN General Assembly in September 2024, as well as the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the 100th anniversary of Maya Plisetskaya, the 180th anniversary of Abai Qunanbaiuly, the 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiyev and other outstanding figures whose creative legacy has left a significant mark on world culture.
The Festival provides young talents with the opportunity to showcase their skills in vocal, instrumental and choreographic categories. The project is aimed at participants aged 12 to 18 from UNESCO member-states, where Associations and Clubs for UNESCO exist, who aspire to develop their artistic abilities and promote the ideals of peace and harmony through creativity.
THE PLANET OF ART – 2025 promotes contemporary interpretations of works by Kazakh composers and choreographers, creating a platform for international cultural exchange. The Festival not only supports young creative talents but also offers participants a unique opportunity to represent their country on the international stage as young ambassadors of the culture of peace.
Applications for participation are accepted until May 11, 2025. The selection process consists of two stages: first, an online round and offline screening for Kazakhstani pre-selected participants, after which the laureates will receive an invitation to the final in Kazakhstan. Finalists will have the opportunity to take part in an educational and cultural program organized with the support of leading educators and artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The final of the Festival will feature a large-scale Gala concert with an official awarding ceremony in Almaty. The concert will unite global musical culture and the works of national composers in a single theatrical program.
A distinctive feature of THE PLANET OF ART – 2025 will be the return to the tradition of accompanying the gala concert with a live symphony orchestra.
The Festival is organized in cooperation with the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and the Republican Educational and Methodological Center of Additional Education, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the Akimats of the regions and the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, the UNESCO Almaty Regional Office, Clubs for UNESCO of Kazakhstan and other partners from the participating countries.
