NFUAJ SDGs Youth Forum
High School Students SDGs Joint Declaration
Adopted on March 29, 2019

The United Nations adopted “Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs” in 2015 to tackle with problems not only in developing countries but also in developed countries.
Is our power insufficient for solving these issues? What can we the youth do for the future?
In March 2019, twenty-six students from the Japanese five UNESCO ASP Net high schools, one Chinese and Korean high schools gathered in Tokyo to attend the NFUAJ SDGs Forum as leaders who carry the future of SDGs on their shoulders.
We high school students exchanged views that what can we do for the present and future based on discussion, learning and field work.
To overcome the conflict and difficulties and to create a sustainable future, we advocate to
ⅰ    respect cultures and diversities,
ⅱ   promote communication and interaction,
ⅲ  have cooperative mind and sense of ownership,
ⅳ  take actions and influence people around you,
ⅴ   not ignore the reality. Make use of wisdom from ancestors,
ⅵ  be confident to achieve your goals.

From what we gained during the forum, each school decided Our SDGs below.

  • Improve the cultural environment and living environment. (Beijing No.57 High School)
  • Raise awareness of SDGs within the local community and lead out their actions through partnership. (Cheongna Dalton School)
  • Broaden our activities from our school to local community. (Chigusa High School)
  • Solve the problems of gender at school. (Koka Gakuen)
  • Revitalize Ryoanji shopping street for foreign tourist. (Korea International School)
  • Changing every students’ awareness. (Sendai Nika High School)
  • Recognize and inform around the world by myself. (Showa Women’s University Senior High School)

This forum will be the first step for us to achieve SDGs and to build the better future lasting forever.
