Training Seminar on “Youth and Agenda 2030” at Manipur, 12 to 14 Oct 2018
CUCAI in collaboration with Peoples UNESCO Club of Manipur and Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Manipur University organized a Training Seminar on the theme “Youth and Agenda 2030”, from 12th to 14th October 2018 at City Convention Hall, Imphal, Manipur. About 700 local youth and 58 UNESCO Club Leaders from 15 states attended the programme.
The training seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Thokchom Radheshyam, Minister of Education, Labour and Employment of Manipur. Mr. Ramesh Kumar Ganta, IAS, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi was the Guest of Honour, Prof. E. Bijoi Kumar Singh of Manipur University was the Guest Speaker, Mr. K. Bhabananda Singh, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and President of Manipur State BJP, delivered the valedictory address. Prof. S.S. Chinna, Dean, Agriculture Economics (Retd.), Khalsa College, Amritsar, Punjab and President CUCAI delivered the lecture on Impediments to Sustainable Development, Mr. Dhirendra Bhatnagar, Secretary General, CUCAI and President WFUCA spoke about the UNESCO Club Movement and Role of Youth in implementing SDGs. As part of the seminar, visits to Myanmar Border, Cultural sites in Imphal, programmes depicting arts and dances of Manipur were organized.
Mr. Suresh P. Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Honorary President of CUCAI and Mr. Eric FALT, Director and UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, UNESCO Office in New Delhi sent the video message.
